The EU is supporting SMEs through 40+ projects in Georgia

Promote competitiveness and inclusive, sustainable growth of Georgian SMEs by strengthening evidence-based policy making, supporting green transition of firms, promoting innovation, and developing risk capital.

Project Objectives: promoting increased export by Georgian SMEs to the EU (primarily) but also to the European countries’ markets; strengthening value chains with strong growth and export potential.

Contribute to sustainable growth and employment in the creative industries (CI) by facilitating capacity building, networking and collaboration opportunities, and providing funding opportunities to different CI stakeholders with a special focus on regional cities and towns in Georgia.

Project Objectives: increased inclusion of digital tools in SMEs’ daily operations; encouragement of SMEs to invest in digitalization.

The initiative aims to boost women's entrepreneurship and overall involvement in business across EaP countries by enhancing access to both financial and non-financial business development services.

The project receives funding from the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development in Georgia (ENPARD – Georgia), specifically under its fourth phase (ENPARD IV).

Project Green Guria aims to enhance rural development and democracy in Georgia's Guria region, particularly in Ozurgeti, Lanchkuti, and Chokhatauri Municipality.

Implemented by GIZ with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, it aims to rebalance economic and social activity in Georgia's Guria, Imereti, Kakheti, and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions.

The project, part of ENPARD's fourth phase, aims to improve food safety and promote agricultural exports. It focuses on enhancing capacities within the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, supporting producers and food businesses, and facilitating the export of Georgian agricultural products, particularly to the EU market.

The projct offers guidance to SMEs across various domains including strategy, operations, quality management, financial reporting, and energy efficiency, among others.

Project Objectives: improved agricultural competitiveness; enhanced economic opportunities, employment and services to the population; improved exports; enhanced consumer protection through increased quality and coverage of inspections and controls and effective enforcement of approximated legislation.

SMEs receiving loans through this program can access counseling services to improve their technical and managerial skills and acquire market knowledge. An international team of experts and engineers offers technical assistance to SMEs investing in new machinery and technology to align with EU Directives.
