More Than Therapy: The Center Restoring Hope and Independence in Moldova

In Tiraspol, a physical rehabilitation center is offering more than therapy – it’s giving people a second chance at life. At Kineto Life, patients are learning to walk again, rebuild confidence, and to reclaim their independence.

Kineto Life is the first centre of its kind in the city, created in response to an urgent need: access to modern, compassionate rehabilitation services.

The centre was established with the support from the European Union through its EU4Business initiative, co-financed by Sweden and implemented by the East Europe Foundation. With a grant of EUR 37,500, the founders transformed a simple idea into a vital community resource, especially for people with disabilities or those recovering from strokes, surgeries, or traumatic injuries.

“Our physical rehabilitation centre is a modern facility that supports the recovery of people who have experienced trauma, surgeries, congenital neurological conditions, or strokes,” explains Dmitrii Golosnoi, the founder of the centre.

At Kineto Life, a dedicated team of professionals — rehabilitation doctors, massage therapists, and physical therapists — approach each patient with expertise and empathy. Among them is Elena Timoșevscaia, a rehabilitation specialist who works daily with patients who have temporarily lost their ability to walk.

“Here, we teach people how to walk again. We design a personalised programme for each patient and begin the exercises. If someone has recently had a stroke and is bedridden, and their relatives cannot bring them in, we visit them at home and carry out the sessions there.”

It’s demanding work, but the results are powerful. Patients return with hope, visible progress, and invaluable sense that they are not alone. One beneficiary, a 40-year-old man recovering from a stroke, shares:

“I had a stroke at the age of 39, and I’ve been in recovery for a year. The results are promising.”

The centre is fully equipped with modern rehabilitation tools: stationary bikes, treadmills, specialised toning machines and massage tables. The environment is welcoming and supportive – physically, emotionally, and socially.

A defining feature of Kineto Life is its commitment to accessibility. The centre offers services free of charge to people with special needs and those with grade I or II disabilities. It also creates job opportunities for retirees and individuals with disabilities, hiring them in administrative or technical support roles.

“We’re not just a medical centre. We are a place where people learn to live again with dignity,” says Dmitrii Golosnoi.
